About Ren Hernandez

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2013 but I became stuck for years deciding between pursuing Nurse Practitioner or Pre-Med. I decided to try pursuing something that has always been there with me my whole life: my love for art and color. I decided to apply for a studio artist position at Goggleworks Center for The Arts in Reading, Pennsylvania. I got the position and the art studio and I have been painting and learning art as much as I can since 2020.

As a self-taught artist, I find myself constantly relying on museums, history, and books to educate and guide me in which direction to go. I strongly believe that there is beauty in everything and I seek to learn, study, and capture as much beauty as I possibly can. Currently, I am enrolled in multiple art programs to further increase my skills as an artist as well as explore other subject matters.

When I’m not painting at the studio, I am working as a Registered Nurse in the frontlines of the pandemic, saving lives, helping people heal, and helping people at their most vulnerable time.
